A Special Blessed Lenten Season!
Psalm 46:10 (Be Still and Know that I am God)
We are almost finished in the Lenten Season and some of us are counting the days. I hope we took the time to slow down, or are we still thinking about the things we did not do, like the resolutions we didn’t keep and the times we glanced over the wonderful meditations written by the laity and clergy staff and said, “I will read it later.”
We live in a culture that equates business with importance. Does our schedule dictate our lives? Have we left God out? Are we too busy to stop and hear his voice over the responsibilities and obligations that have taken over? Do we let church work interfere with our time with God? How many organizations do we belong?
Lent will be over at Easter. Did we keep the promises we made to the Lord? You know the ones: fasting, quiet time with the Lord, no T.V, no technology, no meat, no sugar. Do we say we will do better next year? After all, these things require disciple, dedication, practice, and keeping our word.
The Psalmist reminds us to take time each day and be still and exalt the Lord. How can God show Himself or speak to us if we are too busy.
God of Grace and God of Glory. We will heed your invitation.
